  1. Nurture and encourage your child’s imagination. Do all you can to enable exciting, safe, aspirational play. Yes, make it age appropriate, but I think you can push boundaries. There’s also no reason why you and your teenager can’t build indoor forts around PlayStation or Netflix. Get involved in your child’s play. Let your inner child participate with your children. Be the baddie so they can be the hero. Rescue the damsel. Fly! Whatever it takes.
    I had almost forgotten how to ‘play’. It’s taken time for me to break down my self imposed adult barriers. It’s still not easy but do it. You’ll be part of your kids memories instead of an onlooker. Don’t you want that?
